Sensory Reduction And The Quest For Human Potential

As the nature of our lives evolves and changes we are constantly looking for ways to improve our creativity and production. This is not a new challenge but one that has taken a sudden sense of urgency, especially in the modern business world. Yes, You Are Busy But Are You Really There?

How often do you feel run by your schedule? Do you feel like there is not enough time in the day to achieve what you want to achieve? Or is it a pull between studies, socializing, roommates, and all that life demands of you?

When you are this busy it is hard to even imagine time for yourself, much less planning and prioritizing that time. If you do create time just to be alone, FABULOUS! If you don’t, consider this: when you are not taking time out for yourself, you risk living a life that is disconnected from who you are. Living A Balanced Life

Living a balanced life has almost become a fashionable thing to do. Between work, fitness, intellectual stimulation, entertainment, planned relaxation and healthy eating it seems that we have identified all the right ingredients for a healthy and balanced life. While doing all “the right things” many of us sometimes wonder why we still don’t feel balanced.

We’re all different individuals, and as such respond to different types of stimuli that may either reduce or increase our stress level. What’s right for one person may not work for another. We all need to find our own individual mix of life balancing factors.

Slowing It Down - Wisdom From The Whales

Take it slow, don’t have many kids and enjoy cold water. All advice for living longer from the Bowhead whale? I was reading an article in the New York Times about the discovery of a bomb lance fragment embedded in the blubber of a Bowhead whale that was harpooned in Alaska this year. A bomb lance is a harpoon that was manufactured for a short time in the 1800s. The whale had carried the harpoon for 115 years.
